Rugby Ref ("the app") is operated by DINK Productions LLC ("we", "us"). The app lets match hosts broadcast referee calls in real time and lets fans follow those calls with plain-language explanations. This policy describes what information the app handles and how.
Host accounts. If you register as a host you provide a name, email address, and password. Accounts are managed by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password in readable form. Host access requests submitted through the app include the name and email you enter on the request form.
Fans. Fan mode does not require an account and works anonymously. If you choose to enter a display name and seat number (for example, for prize giveaways), that information is stored with the match session you joined and is automatically unavailable after the session expires.
Location. With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show live games near you. Your location is used for this feature only. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising.
Photos. Hosts may choose images from their photo library to display as sponsor overlays during a match. Only the images you explicitly select are uploaded; the app does not otherwise access your photo library.
Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, a device push token is stored so the app can deliver referee-call alerts for sessions you join. Tokens are not linked to your identity.
Microphone and speech recognition. Hosts may use voice input to select referee calls. Audio is processed for speech recognition only and is not recorded or stored by us.
We do not sell personal information, do not show third-party advertising, and do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
The app stores data with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage), acting as our service provider. Google's handling of this data is described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation. We share data with no one else.
Match session data (including fan names and seat numbers) becomes unavailable after the session ends and may be deleted by the host. Host account data is kept while the account is active.
You can delete your host account at any time in the app (Host Menu → Delete Account). This permanently removes your authentication account and host profile. You can also request deletion by emailing us at the address below.
The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Fan mode requires no account or personal information.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by Firebase security rules that restrict who can read and write it.
If we make material changes we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
